Tax Deducted at Source or TDS is a means of collecting income tax in India. The individual who receives the payment net of TDS (also known as the Assesse) is required to file return stating the TDS deducted and paid to government during over the relevant period.

Who is involved in the process of TDs?
Two identities are involved in the process of TDS : Deductor and Deductee. Deductor – It is a person or a company who deducts the Tax (i.e. debits the money), before the payment has been made. Sometimes they are referred as Employers.
How is TDs harmful to the human body?
Mostly found in groundwater and river water, these are naturally occurring and are harmless for the human body. However, some constituents of TDS like pesticides, lead, arsenic, and fluoride can be very harmful to human health.
